What is NAM in NS2?
NAM stands for Network Animator. It is built in graphical tool in
NS that allows the user to get a visual representation of the command scripts
designed by the user. It provides a methodology to view the designed topology
and get a view of the events, as they are triggered one after another.
NAM
provides a visual interpretation of the network topology created. The application
was developed as part of the VINT project. Its features are as follows. Figure
5.3 displays the NAM application and its components.

be executed directly from a Tcl script
· Controls
include play, stop ff, rw, pause, a display speed controller and a packet
monitor facility.

Presents
information such as throughput, number packets on each link.

a drag and drop interface for creating topologies.
